Early Childhood Special Education
About The Early Childhood Special Education Strand
The goal of early childhood special education is to enable young children with disabilities to be active and successful in routines and activities in early childhood settings during their early childhood years and in the future. For learners who are 3-5 years old and attending preschool, IEP teams must address specific educational and developmental factors within the preschool setting. Also, as children transition from preschool to kindergarten, IEP teams need to collaborate to support a smooth transition for the learner. Professional Learning courses and modules contained within this Early Childhood strand will address these aspects to ensure improved outcomes for learners.
